Lantana is located within a county development district and two Fresh Water Supply Districts. Development districts and Fresh Water Supply Districts are political subdivisions endowed with the functions, powers, authority, rights and duties that will permit them to accomplish the purpose for which they were created. The Fresh Water Supply Districts are the taxing authorities for the Lantana Community.
Fresh Water Supply District # 6 and # 7 are governed by a publicly elected board of directors. These boards function similar to a city council and make all key decisions regarding district operations.
The Fresh Water Supply Districts conduct monthly meetings.
Fresh Water Supply District # 6 (FWSD #6) meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month at 2650 FM 407 E Suite 125, Barton ville, Texas 76226.
Fresh Water Supply District #7 (FWSD #7) meetings are held at 12:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month at 2650 FM 407 E Suite 125, Barton ville, Texas 76226.
